I since lived in various parts of South Africa: Cape Town, Worcester, Bloemfontein, Johannesburg.
After a short visit to Paris, London and Edinburgh in October/November 2005, I decided that I really liked London, and wanted to move there for a years. I managed to find a job while on holiday, and went back to South Africa to pack up my life and move to London.
I'm currently a heading up the Systems Architecture team for a London based Internet Service Provider, Claranet. The job involves writing software and designing scalable, resilient new replacement systems and platforms, and migrating customers from the old systems to the new systems that we've built, and managing a small team of three people.
Prior to moving to London, I lived in Johannesburg, South Africa for just over three and a half years (since May 2002) where I worked for one of South Africa's leading Internet Service Providers, Internet Solutions as a Dial Infrastructure engineer in the Network Infrastructure team. My primary focus was building, supporting and maintaing the systems and network infrastructure and solutions. Prior to that I worked at iTouch Labs in Cape Town, and prior to that I did some consulting to the Western Cape Schools' Network (now eSchools' Network) and SchoolNet South Africa.
I enjoy listening to a wide variety of music, however Indie / alternative music seems to be my favourites - see my Last.FM profile.
My gallery got some photos of my recent trips.
